How It Works
Four modes. Two targets. 1000 for the NRL, 250 for the NRLW.
The Idea
Draft a starting 13 of NRL players. Every player carries their NRL tries, but you do not see the number until you pick them. Add up your 13 and try to reach 1000.
The Team
You fill a standard starting 13: FB, W, C, C, W, FE, HB, P, HK, P, SR, SR, LK. Players can go into any position they are listed for, so a centre who also played wing can fill either spot. If a player fits more than one open spot, you choose where they go.
The Modes
| Mode | How you draft | To win | Wildcards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1000+ | Roll 3 players, pick 1 | Full 13 on 1000 or more | 1 of each |
| Exactly 1000 | Roll 3 players, pick 1 | Full 13 on exactly 1000. Under or over is a miss. | None |
| Team Spin | Choose a position, then spin a season and club and pick from that squad in that position | Full 13 on 1000 or more | 1 of each |
| NRLW 250+ | Roll 3 NRLW players, pick 1 | Full 13 on 250 NRLW tries or more | 1 of each |
In Team Spin you choose the position first, before the club and season are revealed, so you are locked in. If nobody from the squad you land on plays that position, the game spins again for you.
Wildcards
- Reroll (Respin in Team Spin): bin the current offer and get a fresh one.
- Reveal Tries: show the tries for everyone on the current offer only.
- Remove Player: take one player out of your 13. Their spot reopens and they go back in the pool. If your 13 is full but short of the target, you can still use it before you lock in.
Each wildcard can be used once per game. Exactly 1000 has no wildcards.
The Rules
- Every player can only be picked once.
- Picks are final, unless you use Remove Player.
- Your running total and how far you are from 1000 are always on screen.
- Offers are random, but players with more NRL tries turn up a little more often.
- Club colours show the club each player last played for.
- No bonuses, no chemistry, no tricks. Just tries.
Where the Numbers Come From
Tries count NRL premiership games from 1998 to now. The 1997 Super League and ARL seasons are not included, and neither are Origin, Tests or other representative games. The player list matches the 27-0 player pool, and only players with a confirmed try count are in the game, including players who never scored.
NRLW 250+ counts NRLW premiership tries from 2018 to now, including finals. Women’s Origin, Tests, All Stars and one-off exhibition games are not included. NRLW data comes from Rugby League Project, with the top tryscorers checked against official club pages. Players who have only ever played off the bench take the position they have played in other competitions.
